Standard containers are the most common sized containers on the open market, sizes are standardized to allow movement on ship/rail/road.

Special Containers

IDEAL Containers Offer a wide range of specialist & high cube containers to the domestic and commercial market. Special Containers are particularly suitable for transporting light Voluminous cargoes and over height cargoes up to a maximum of 2.70 m tall which makes them ideal for conversion work , due to extra head room.

Our shipping container side and roof panels are constructed from steel and are fully welded. The floor material in our new build containers is high quality 19mm laminate birch marine plywood supported on pressed steel floor bearers.

Refrigerated Containers

A refrigerated container or reefer is an intermodal container (shipping unit) that is set to freeze or chill for transportation of temperature sensitive cargo.

To simply explain, refrigerated containers are big fridge/freezers that are used to transport temperature controlled cargo such as fruits, meat, fish, seafood, vegetables, dairy and also non-food products such as flowers, pharmaceuticals and film across the world. Some cargo may need to be shipped chilled or frozen or in controlled + temperatures.

[alert-note]Reefer containers have the ability to maintain the cargo at the required temperatures for the duration of the transit keeping the cargo fresh. At Universal Containers, we provide refrigerated containers in both 20 foot and 40 foot sizes and with temperatures as low as -25 degrees, they are ideal for the catering industry.[/alert-note]
